Reservations & Check-In

What time is check-in and check-out at the Iris Inn?

Check-in is anytime after 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. This allows our housekeeping team to prepare your room to the highest standards.

You can book directly through our website at irisinn.com, call us at (540) 943-1991, or toll-free at (888) 585-9018. Full payment in advance is required for all reservations.

A two-night or three-night minimum stay is required on weekends (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday), holidays, and during special events. This policy applies to all main inn rooms, cottages, and cabins.

Yes! Please call (540) 943-1991 to make your reservation with a gift certificate to avoid unnecessary credit card charges. A credit card will be required for any remaining balance or incidental charges. Gift certificates and also be redeemed when booking online (Of course, you can still call).  Guests will just need to enter the gift certificate number instead of a credit card.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Full payment is charged at the time of booking.

Cancellations made at least 7 days before arrival receive a refund minus a 10% handling fee, or a full gift certificate for future use. Cancellations made 6 days or less will be refunded only if we re-book your room, minus a 10% handling fee. All cancellations must be made by phone.

Where is the Iris Inn located?
The Iris Inn is located at 191 Chinquapin Drive, Waynesboro, VA 22980, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley on a 19-acre Blue Ridge Mountain property.
The Iris Inn is approximately three hours from Washington, D.C., 90 miles northwest of Richmond, and 125 miles southwest of Washington, DC. We’re conveniently located off Interstate 64.
The Iris Inn is just 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance and only 2 miles from Skyline Drive, making it perfect for scenic mountain drives and hiking.
Humpback Rock is approximately 20 miles away (about 30 minutes), and Crabtree Falls is also within 30 minutes. Both offer spectacular hiking experiences in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Yes, we’re just minutes from historic downtown Waynesboro, which offers restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Historic Staunton is also a short drive away.

What types of accommodations does the Iris Inn offer?
We offer three types of accommodations: Main Inn Rooms with valley views, private Cottages, and luxury Cabins. Each option is uniquely designed with modern comforts and thoughtful amenities.
Yes, our luxury cabins feature private hot tubs on the decks where you can relax while enjoying mountain views.
All accommodations include complimentary breakfast, in-room Keurig coffee/tea/cocoa, Pellegrino sparkling water, Fiji water, luxury toiletry amenities, and daily room refresh upon request.
Yes, the Iris Inn property is completely smoke-free, including vaping, tobacco, and cannabis. Smoking anywhere on the property incurs a minimum $250 cleaning fee.

Policies

Are children allowed at the Iris Inn?
The Iris Inn is designed as a romantic couples’ getaway. Children under 10 years old, infants, and toddlers are not permitted in the main inn or standard accommodations. However, children of all ages are welcome in our two family-friendly cottages: Deep Woods Cottage and Garden Path Cottage. Children 10 and older are charged as adults in other accommodations.
Pets are permitted in three designated pet-friendly cottages only: Deep Woods Cottage, Hawks Nest Cottage, and Garden Path Cottage. There is a $95 non-refundable pet fee per pet per night. Only dogs are permitted (maximum two dogs per cottage, not exceeding 45 lbs each). Service animals are welcome in all accommodations at no charge.
The Iris Inn property is for registered guests only. If you have visitors who need to meet you, pick you up, or drop you off, they must register with the innkeeper on duty and depart by 8:00 PM.
We offer complimentary room refresh upon request between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. This includes making your bed (if clear of personal items), trash removal, towel changes, restocking coffee pods, and washing dishes. Call the office at (540) 943-1991 to schedule. We do not enter rooms unless requested.

Is breakfast included in my stay?
Yes, a complimentary breakfast is included with all reservations. Breakfast is served daily between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM in the great room overlooking the Shenandoah Valley.
We offer a signature breakfast buffet featuring an ever-changing selection of fresh fruit plates, house-made granola, pastries, and sweet and savory dishes. Locally roasted coffee, teas, and breakfast cocktails are also available.
Yes, we have a limited dining space and offer dinner service. We recommend making dinner reservations in advance to ensure availability.
Yes, the Iris Inn is located minutes from downtown Waynesboro and is a short drive from historic Staunton. The area also features numerous upscale wineries and breweries.

On-Site Amenities & Activities

Do you have a spa?
Yes, the Iris Inn has an on-site spa offering various services. We recommend booking spa treatments in advance to ensure availability.
Our 19-acre property features walking trails through the woods (color-marked on trees), multiple fire pits for roasting marshmallows, scenic decks with mountain views, and a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxation. We also have a 3-story observation tower to take in the views.

What is the weather like at the Iris Inn?
Waynesboro has a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are warm and humid (highs around 86°F), winters are cold and snowy (lows around 26°F), and spring and fall offer mild, comfortable temperatures perfect for outdoor activities.
Each season offers unique beauty. Spring (April-May) brings blooming flowers and mild weather. Summer (June-September) is ideal for hiking with warm temperatures and the most sunshine. Fall (October-November) showcases spectacular foliage. Winter (December-March) offers cozy cabin stays with occasional snow and mountain views.
Yes, Waynesboro receives an average of 26 inches of snow annually, with most snowfall occurring between January and February. Winter can be beautiful on the property, especially with snow-covered mountain views.

What are your office hours?

The Iris Inn office hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. After-hours emergency service is available by calling (540) 471-3566. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.

Lost items are placed in our Lost & Found safety box. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you if we find your belongings. Items can be shipped back at the owner’s expense plus a handling fee. Unclaimed items after 30 days are donated to charity.

No, there are no hidden resort fees. Your room rate includes breakfast, coffee/tea service, luxury amenities, and property access. Additional charges only apply for optional services like spa treatments, additional guests ($95/person/night), or pet fees ($95/pet/night in designated cottages).
Single-night stays are available on select weeknights, subject to availability. Weekends and holidays require a minimum two or three-night stay.
