Jeremy Gassen brings nearly 30 years of hospitality experience to everything he writes — and to everything he does. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Jeremy got his start at a hotel front desk during college and never looked back. Since then, he’s managed properties across the full spectrum of the industry, from intimate 8-room bed & breakfasts to 300-room corporate hotels in major urban centers.
A Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) and current member of the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Tourism Association, Jeremy has also served on the Board of Directors for the Bed & Breakfast Association of Virginia. His career reflects a deep and genuine commitment to the guest experience — and to the communities that make travel meaningful.
In January 2025, Jeremy joined the Apogee family as General Manager of Iris Inn & Cabins and Afton Mountain Vineyards, and he hasn’t stopped exploring since. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the region has become a true home for Jeremy and his partner, who share a passion for caving and have been happily working their way through the area’s many underground adventures.
