American Shakespeare Center: Two Holiday Treats are Back

American Shakespeare Center Presents A Christmas Carol

ASC A Christmas Carol¬†Yes, the American Shakespeare Center is known for, well, Shakespearean plays. If you haven’t seen one of their plays, do it! World-renown, ASC has some serious international credentials.

And as much as we love Mr. Shakespeare’s plays, we’re also big fans of the Blackfriar theater’s holiday performances. Since no holiday is complete without¬†A Christmas Carol, ASC began performing it some years ago. Now, it’s an annual holiday favorite.

You might see the story performed on television, but there really is nothing like seeing it acted on the world’s only re-creation of Shakespeare’s own indoor theater. ASC actors are extraordinary, that’s for sure. And when you combine their talent with the theater itself, you truly have a magical experience. Put a Blackfriar’s show at the top of your holiday fun list. You won’t be disappointed!¬†

As a quick aside, did you know that Charles Dickens, the author, performed the play as a one-man show over 100 times! American Shakespeare’s new adaption of the play is based on Dicken’s own performance script.

But A Christmas Carol isn’t the only seasonal play to make its return this year.¬†Every¬†Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some) also makes a return this year.¬†There are only three actors in this play but they play over 30 characters!Every Christmas Story Ever Told
