Winter Wine Weekend Line Up
How is it that February, the shortest month of the year, tends to drag on the longest? With the fervor of Christmas over, we tend to just trudge through February counting the days until Spring.
That is unless you’re a guest of the Iris Inn. Then February is the month you look forward to!
The Iris Inn’s Winter Wine Weekend is a favorite among guests. Not only does it add sparkle to mid-winter, but it’s also a lot of fun for both the wine enthusiast and those wanting to learn more about wines.
This year’s dates are February 7-9, 2020, so mark your calendars. We only have room for 16 couples per event and demand is great. So don’t delay in making your reservations.
Now, let’s take a look at all the fun you’ll have this year.
Winter Wine Weekend Schedule
Wine expert and our weekend host, Marc Suspic of Wine Living, will be on hand all weekend, starting with our meet and greet upon your arrival. He’ll be there to suggest the perfect wines to pair with our perfect appetizers:
- Charcuterie board
- Pickled vegetables
Mix and mingle with other wine enthusiasts, then prepare for an Iris Inn dinner! No need to go out. We’re serving Friday dinner at the Inn this year!
After dinner, it’s a dessert fantasy of chocolate fondue with strawberries, pound cake, and pretzels paired with a dessert wine to finish off the evening. Sit in front of a roaring fire while enjoying food, fun, and new friends until you’re ready for bed!
Get ready! Because it’s a fun day centered around our love for good food and wine. And that’s where Marc takes center stage. As usual, he’s going to challenge everything you know about wine!
Lunch will be:
- Homemade baklava
Count on having a generous helping of fun and entertainment with your meal! After lunch, take advantage of the beautiful mountain surroundings of the Inn. Go for a walk or take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Or pair up with some of the other couples, and enjoy a leisurely afternoon around the Inn.
Oh, my! Nothing calls for wine more than a four-course dinner, and that’s exactly what we’re cooking up:
- Hors d’oeuvres
- 4-course dinner
After dinner, if you so choose, bring your favorite bottle of wine and share. This is a fun way to learn about other wines and enjoy a wide variety at the same time.
Can you think of a better way to beat the winter doldrums? We can’t. If you like meeting other couples who enjoy good food and good wine, reserve your Winter Wine Weekend date now!
So grab a reservation now. Early bird pricing is just $436, (regularly $456) plus your lodging.
