Mad Anthony Mud Run 2019

What to Expect from Mad Anthony Mud Run 2019

mad anthony mud runNo matter the temperature, mid-winter adventurists will be scrambling through all kinds of obstacles to receive a battlefield reward from their participation in the annual Mad Anthony Mud Run.

Held at Coyner Springs Park, the mud run has been a favorite for the last seven years.

But why a mud run named after General “Mad” Anthony Wayne? History points to the battle at Stony Point. Tasked with the apparent hopeless mission of rooting out the British from an impregnable position, Wayne did just that.

And he did it with enthusiasm and a lack of regard for what others said was a failure from the start. On July 15, 1799, General Wayne proved his superiors wrong.

He beat back the British and helped a fledgling country win the Revolutionary War. Known for his fiery personality, intensity, and tenacity, you can easily see why Wayne is the inspiration behind the Waynesboro mud run.
