Outdoor Activities in the Shenandoah Valley

While you’re staying at the inn make sure to take in some of the fun outdoor activities in the area. From spending a day on the river to taking a night listening to a local band there’s bound to be something that will make everyone happy.

A Day on the South River

Why not spend a day on the South river? You could rent either a kayak or a canoe and float down South Riverthe South River that winds through the area.

You can plan for an hour or all day, but either way you are bound to see lots of beautiful scenery as you travel on one of the local waterways.

If you like fishing, why not purchase a license locally and take advantage of some of that time on the river with your line in the water. Who knows? Maybe you’ll have a great fishing story to tell when you get home.

Spend some time on the Greens at Swannanoa

Why not master your swing. Spend some time on the greens with a relaxing game of golf at Swannanoa. Take the short drive over to Afton and play 18 holes at Swannanoa Golf & Swannanoa golf courseCountry Club.

Beautiful views and the thrill of playing on a course at the same location as the likes of President Calvin Coolidge. Keep your eyes open for local wildlife such as rattlesnakes and mountain lions that are native to the surrounding woods… even though there have been no reported sightings.
