We are located in an area that both admires and promotes artistic endeavors, and some of the most unique and special gifts are just waiting to be found in these local, downtown shops. Charlottesville, Virginia is one such promoter of artisans, and the city recently opened a brand new store in the Barracks Road Shopping Center, The Artisans Market.

“The Artisans Market, is dedicated to the very best of our local designers, manufacturers and artists of Central VA…this store features award winning furniture makers, woodworkers, blacksmiths, photographers, potters, jewelry makers, and more!” Not only does the Artisans Market present the work of local artisans, but it also offers items from around the world. (Plus, one featured artisan just happens to be James Beeler, the local photographer who provided a breathtaking photo for one of the Iris Inn cabins.)
