We happen to be along the Brew Ridge Trail, which includes six different breweries—Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton, Blue Mountain Barrel House in Arrington, Devils Backbone Brewing Company in Roseland, South Street Brewery in Charlottesville, Starr Hill in Crozet, and, Wild Wolf Brewing Company in Nellysford.

Not only can you enjoy a wide selection of beers, but you can also indulge in fantastic food at these breweries, ranging from thick, juicy burgers to gluten-free brownie sundaes. Most of the breweries also offer live music events and theatrical production, so grab a stein of your favorite Virginia craft beer, indulge in a plate of fish and chips, and relax as a live performance echoes through the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

If you’re looking for something different than wine or beer, then how about hard cider? The nearby cideries may be lesser known than the wineries and breweries, but they are certainly no less impressive. Venture to Albemarle CiderWorks in North Garden, Bold Rock Hard Cider in Nellysford, and Castle Hill in Charlottesville. Each cidery displays its own unique variety from tart to sweet, refreshing to substantial, and it’s a drink that can be enjoyed all year round.
